Springhill Hospice - Paradise Found

Darren Hayes writes :-

As most of you who read this will know, my Dad finally succombed to incurable cancer on Monday 15th July 2013 surrounded and supported to the end by his devoted family and friends. Before he passed away I managed to chat to my Dad about his care at Springhill Hospice, he said he would like to thank all the staff not just for looking after his every need but for the way they made him feel like one of the family. "Nothing is ever too much trouble, its almost like being at home" he says. It's worth pointing out that they didnt just care for my Dad the dedicated staff also found time to ask how we are and if we need anything.

It truly is a tranquil setting with amazing gardens filled with every coloured flower you can think of and vibrant garden wildlife all of which whisks your imagination away to a place you can only dream you might find yourself in as you pass from this life to the next.

You would imagine being surrounded by so many reminders of illness that Springhill would have a negative feel but it doesn't it is a very special place. The combination of fanatical care, attention to detail and strong family values is practiced in such a clever way enhanced by a beautifully designed building in such an amazing setting that despite the reasons you may be visiting gives you a warm feeling every time.

Springhill Hospice provides a holistic approach, encompassing the physical, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of care. As you can imagine the cost of running Springhill and maintaining the standard they have set themselves is considerable with a large percentage of income already coming from fundraising activities. Our family would very much appreciate any help you could offer Springhill Hospice so please visit their website by clicking the link below and please donate.
